HoReCa economic agents went out to protest the second day
They also protested in the rain to make themselves heard. The second day, the representatives of the HoReCa sector demanded in front of the Government the reopening of the food units from June 1, but also the revision of the restrictions imposed by the Extraordinary National Commission for Public Health. However, the authorities are adamant: restrictions have been imposed to prevent the outbreak of new outbreaks, informs Moldova 1.
"We came to protest in front of the Government, in order to open the HoReCa domain from June 1. And we do not agree with the regulation that was imposed by a meter and a half. We cannot activate normally if the regulation will be like this," mentioned an economic agent.
"I want to work to feed my family, to keep my staff who is leaving," said another entrepreneur.
"We want to resume the activity from June 1 and we want to have a dialogue with the decision-makers, who stop our activity. We consider that it is a discrimination against the HoReCa sector in relation to the other activities, because we can also respect the conditions of arranging the rooms and the working conditions with all the precautionary moments against the COVID-19 virus," said Aneta Zasaviţchi, president of the Association Apple.
However, government officials say the reopening of food establishments on June 1 could lead to new outbreaks of COVID-19 infection.
Contacted by telephone, Vitalie Dragancea, adviser to the prime minister, said that “The National Commission for Public Health does not elaborate requirements that agree, but submits requirements that have the task of preventing the spread of infection and protecting health and life. I urge HoReCa representatives to prepare for the resumption of work, but in strict accordance with epidemiologists. All the more so because, in the last four weeks, we have had an evolution of the statistics with a worrying infection”.
TRM.MD recalls that, according to the decision of the Extraordinary National Commission of Public Health, the public catering units can resume their activity from June 15, but they are obliged to strictly observe the safety measures, such as the social distance of two meters.
