Higher allowances for Moldovan children whose parents own Romanian citizenship
The Bucharest Parliament decided to increase child allowances, including for children in Moldova, whose parents own Romanian citizenship, Moldova 1 TV reports.
The plenary meeting of the two Chambers of the Romanian Parliament on Thursday voted an amendment to the State Budget Act of 2019, which stipulates the increase of the allowances from 84 to 150 lei for the children aged between 2 and 18 and from 200 to 300 lei for children under 2.
The increase will take effect on 1 March 2019. The necessary amounts will be included in the budget of the Ministry of Labor. The amendment was adopted by 123 votes in favor, 119 votes against and 1 abstention.
