The placement of billboards would be effectively regulated and managed

The placement of billboards would be regulated and managed efficiently, to ensure an aesthetic aspect of the city, but also more money in the budget. A statement to this effect was made by the mayor of the capital, Ion Ceban, who presented today a new draft regulation on street advertising. According to him, at present, a large part of the panels are unsafe and old, scattering the green spaces and the facades of the buildings. Moreover, the large number of billboards affects the road traffic and the repair and construction works of the engineering networks, which leads to losses and to the increase of the cost of the works, reports Moldova 1.

"It is not a novelty that the city of Chisinau abounds in street advertising. It is chaotic, disorganized, ugly and we want to do something with all this. In December-January alone, together with the sector mayorts, we took out of the city over 600 advertising devices of different sizes. Here is what we see now, three floors, on the other side, two floors, small, larger panels, in front, in the back. And here it was cleaned," said Ion Ceban.

"We have here in blue the ultra-central area, where we intend to completely ban the placement of large street advertising. We are talking about the historic center. Basically, the rest of the city is open for large advertising. The urban design code is now elaborated and we will present it in the coming weeks," mentioned Victor Chironda, deputy mayor of Chisinau.
