Service investigation at IGP: Police officers supporting the new government, suspended from office

Police officers who supported the government of Maia Sandu were suspended from office for a period of 30 days. According to Alexandru Pânzari, head of the General Police Inspectorate (IGP), dismissed by the Government of Maia Sandu, a job investigation was initiated within the institution and all legal proceedings are underway. Andrei Nastase, Deputy Prime Minister, newly elected Minister of Home Affairs, claims that the police officers were illegally suspended.

"People who have announced their support for the new government are persecuted. Police officers announced that they were summoned to a meeting where they were announced they were dismissed," said Andrei Năstase in a live Facebook intervention on the spot.

This morning, at the IGP headquarters, searches took place in the office of one of the police officers who have expressed their support for the newly-elected Government led by Maia Sandu. Alexandru Pânzari, who told the press that he condemns the behavior of these policemen, is also on the spot.

"We have those six employees who made statements yesterday, they were suspended by order of the General Police Inspectorate. We have decided to strengthen our headquarters security to avoid leakage of information. I am addressing all the police officers: we have laws, we will ensure the public order," said Alexandru Pânzari.

TRM.MD recalls that yesterday six employees of the n.6 Division of the National Investigation Inspectorate, headed by the head of subdivision Anatolie Macovei declared support to the newly elected government, led by Maia Sandu.
