ANRE launches an information campaign in the context of the World Consumer Day

The National Energy Regulatory Agency (ANRE) today launches a Consumer Information Campaign to raise awareness and to inform consumers about the role of the Agency in consumer protection and to intervene with proposals. The campaign was launched in an informative seminar entitled "Consumer Policy: Principles and Tools". The event is part of a series of actions dedicated to the World Consumer Day, which will be celebrated tomorrow, Moldova 1 reports.

"We want to sensitize consumers in order to make them know their rights and, last but not least, the obligations so as the consumer could take an attitude to cooperate more with ANRE and we have a visibility," said the head of the ANRE Legal Department, Violina Şpac.

Associations in the field want consumer rights to be respected.

"Ensuring consumers' rights is somewhere in the order of the day, as a rule, and if anything is done then it becomes more formal," said Nicolae Mogureanu, the representative of the Energy Consumers Association.

"When a certain decision is suspended for a certain period of time about certain electoral events, when tariffs change after that, sometimes consumer suspicion arises. Transparent decision-making has increased, but we have to work together," said expert Sergiu Ungureanu.

The ANRE Administration aims to organize more activities to inform consumers.

"We want to enter into a dialogue with consumers, our opinion is that a well-informed consumer is a protected consumer," said ANRE Director General, Veaceslav Untila.

The agency proposes to launch a new site and an informative spot for people to know more about the activity and role of the institution.
