Today is the International Roma Day

Today, when the International Roma Day is marked in the world, the community becomes more supportive and responsible for the challenges of the epidemic. The Roma baron of the Republic of Moldova, Artur Cerari, congratulated all the Roma and came with the urge that everyone respects the quarantine regime imposed by the authorities, reports Radio Moldova.

"I undertake to be with my people both in joy and sadness. The coronavirus has prevented us a little, but I think we will go forward with the whole people and prove the true sons of this people. No matter how this territory is anyway, but it is our homeland and we must be together, respect the rules indicated by the authorities. Take fewer walks, keep the social distance, wear masks,” urged Artur Cerari.

The Roma baron came with a congratulatory message for the International Roma Day.

"Today, on the day of the Roma, I wish everyone a healthy, prosperous world, to go together, so that our parents, children and our elders may have greater joy than they have or have had. This epidemic is not more powerful than everyone else," said the baron.

Every year, on April 8, the International Day of the Roma is marked. It was proclaimed in 1990, in the 4th Congress of the International Union of Roma, which was held in Warsaw. This date was chosen in memory of April 8, 1971, when, near London, the first international meeting of the representatives of the Roma ethnic group took place.
