The cleaning works of the Bâc riverbed have started

The Bâc River has recently turned into a real ecological bomb. After being forgotten for more than seven years, authorities announce that the watershed will finally be cleaned. For a start, the officials aim to remove all the dirt from the section between Mihai Viteazul Street and Feredeului Street, reports Moldova 1.

Residents of the region claim that the Bac River has become a landfill for many of the economic agents, but also the people who dumped the waste at random. Thus, in some places, the water emits an unbearable odor.

According to the officials, more specialized techniques will be used to clean the Bâc riverbed, and the works will take about a month and a half.

The general mayor of the capital, Ion Ceban, declared that, at present, they are working on several projects for the revitalization of the area from the Bic riverbed.

"The works started with the evacuation of the mud on the one hand, and on the other hand the cleaning of the green spaces. We are working on several concepts to revitalize the area. Obviously it's a private area. If you want, my opinion is that it must be evacuated from here and an ultramodern central area created and this is possible," the mayor opined.

For the sanitation of the Bic riverbed, the municipality has allocated approximately 3.5 million lei.
