The authorities have initiated several actions to inform the population about coronavirus

An action to inform the population about the coronavirus was initiated by the Ministry of Health, Labor and Social Protection (MSMPS). It involves sending messages to citizens regarding the declaration of the yellow warning of infection with the new type of coronavirus and was carried out in partnership with the national mobile operators. Prime Minister Ion Chicu told the Government meeting today, February 26, that the authorities were ready to face the coronavirus.

"At the meeting of the National Extraordinary Public Health Commission on February 2, we approved a clear plan of action through this direction, and on Monday when we repeatedly convened within this commission we discussed the evolution of the last period. I have found that the authorities are ready to face this challenge. We are in permanent contact with the World Health Organization (WHO),” said Ion Chicu.

The prime minister requested that the members of the Crisis Unit present every day details about the evolution of the situation in the last 24 hours, so that citizens can be informed from the first source.

At the same time, the MSMPS announced the launch of an extensive campaign to inform the population of the Republic of Moldova regarding precautionary measures, in the context of a possible infection with coronavirus.

"This action on sending messages to subscribers by mobile operators is part of this campaign that was launched (...). The messages are focused on precautionary measures if the person reflects certain symptoms in the context of coronavirus, or if he / she returns from a country where coronavirus cases have been reported,” said Minister Viorica Dumbrăveanu.

She also mentioned that starting today, in the public transport, they are running video spots that have been delivered by MSMPS, developed with the support of WHO. Also, they will also be distributed video spots for the press.
