Social campaign to prevent and combat violence against women and families

The international campaign "16 days of activism against gender-based violence" takes place annually worldwide, from November 25 to December 10. In this context, the Center for Women's Rights (CDF), with the support of Sweden, is launching a social campaign to prevent and combat violence against women and domestic violence.

The campaign aims to raise public awareness of the seriousness of the phenomenon, to urge people close to the victims to support them, but also to encourage victims to seek help.

In the first nine months of this year, 533 women turned to the CDF's legal, psychological and social services, compared to 369 women assisted in the same period last year. In May alone, during the quarantine period, a record number of 79 assisted cases was registered, double the monthly average.
