Company in charge with repair works on two national roads, on strike
Dozens of employees of a company in Azerbaijan, which performs repair work on two segments of the Chisinau-Ungheni-Sculeni national road and the Chisinau-Lăpuşna road, went on strike for several days because they had not received their salaries for several months, reports Moldova 1.
Several engineers within the company stated that such arrears are only for Moldovan employees. Also, representatives of the State Road Administration said that they do not know anything about the fact that the workers went on strike and that there would be financial problems for the Azerbaijani company.
The company was to complete the works in 2016. The works are financed with about 56 million euros by the European Investment Bank and the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development.
