Veterans' councils will be active in each district

The creation of veterans' councils in each district and the creation of nine specialized working groups, which will focus on communicating with public authorities, on the issue of payments and compensation, on health and rehabilitation issues, but also other areas, were discussed within a framework of joint meetings between the Prime Minister of the Republic of Moldova, Ion Chicu with the representatives of the National Council for the problems of war veterans.

About 300 veterans attended the meeting.

The session also addressed the common problems faced by veterans, such as access to medical treatment and rehabilitation services, support in employment and vocational training, medical insurance and material support.

"I'm glad to be here. Today we launch the activity of the National Council of Veterans, which is the most effective tool for solving the problems of veterans. We have over 20 thousand veterans. The problems are serious and have accumulated over the years. We came to discuss how we can solve your problems and the country’s ones. I consider you the best men of the nation, let politics, dissensions, enmity and unity. I assure you that we will do everything the Government can today,” declared the prime minister.

The Secretary of the Council presented an Action Plan for the years 2020 - 2023, which contains 50 actions on all topics addressed during the meeting.
