The Audiovisual Council will monitor the linguistic correctness of 13 television stations

The Audiovisual Council will monitor the linguistic correctness of 13 television stations between March and April 2019, Radio Moldova News reports.

CA will identify the most serious and frequent speech errors which will be exposed publicly, accompanied by the correct variants.

The CA TV Monitoring Division will monitor news broadcasts, cinematographic works (subtitles), verbal messages for journalists, presenters, moderators, tv producers, and children's programs. Interventions and verbal sequences of studio guests and voxes will not be subject to monitoring.

CA asserts that through these monitoring the aim is to ensure the cultural-linguistic heritage in the audiovisual media services and the fulfillment of the commitment assumed in the National Action Plan for the implementation of the Moldova-EU Association Agreement, mentioning the need for thematic monitoring of the patrimony cultural-national protection.
