COVID-19 in Moldova: 158 new cases and six deaths

In the Republic of Moldova, 158 new cases of COVID-19 were confirmed today, May 26. This was announced by the Minister of Health, Labor and Social Protection, Viorica Dumbrăveanu. According to her, six other people infected with Coronavirus have died. Thus, the number of deaths reached 267 in our country.

Viorica Dumbrăveanu specified that 256 patients continue to be in serious condition, another 19 being subjected to mechanical ventilation.

In total, 1,118 tests were performed today: 833 primary and 285 repeated. Cumulatively, there are 7,305 cases, of which 3,154 are active.

At the same time, 82 people were healed, totalling 3,884.

"Today, we have 19 infected medical workers, three are doctors, 11 are nurses, and five are part of the auxiliary staff of medical institutions," said the minister.

Regarding the registered outbreaks of Coronavirus, the minister said that at the Placement Center in Badiceni, the total number of infected people is 122, and 38 people are hospitalized, while 83 are receiving treatment at the placement institution.

At the Cocieri Placement Center, 74 cases of infection were registered among the beneficiaries, of which 14 are undergoing treatment at the hospital, and 60 have already been cured.

And at the Placement Center for People with Disabilities in Brânzeni, the number of infected people among the beneficiaries was 71. So far, everyone has recovered and continues to live in the center.
