COVID-19 in Moldova: 37 people in serious condition

According to the latest information, presented by the Minister of Health, Labor and Social Protection, Viorica Dumbrăveanu, 26 infected persons are in serious condition at Toma Ciorbă Hospital and 11 patients from the Republican Clinical Hospital are experiencing a serious evolution. The number of people infected with the new type of Coronavirus in the Republic of Moldova has remained the same - 353 cases so far.

„The health status of the patients who are in the Public Medical-Sanitary Institutions - at the Toma Ciorbă Hospital - we currently have 125 people, of whom 26 have a serious evolution, 64 satisfactory status. At the Clinical Hospital for Contagious Diseases for Children, we have 33 confirmed persons, 11 adults and 22 children, in the case of 27 persons, 10 adults, 17 children the condition is of average severity, the rest in satisfactory status. At the Republican Clinical Hospital, we have 15 people out of which 11 people are in serious evolution, four people are in satisfactory condition. I want to mention, that we have the mother whose first test was negative and we very much hope that she will be discharged. At the Clinical Hospital of the Ministry of Health and Social Protection, we have 82 persons confirmed with Covid, in the case of 31 persons, their condition is average, 51 are in satisfactory condition. In the Clinical Hospital in Balti, we have 16 persons admitted, ten of medium gravity, six satisfactory conditions. At Causeni Hospital, we have 14 people admitted, five average severity, nine are in satisfactory condition. At the "Archangel Michael" Hospital, we have four people with average severity. At Maternity Hospital 2, which is intended for pregnant women, at present, we have six people who are admitted, three are of medium gravity and three are in satisfactory condition, including we have persons with Covid who are at the Institute of Urgent Medicine. It is about five people who need medical-surgical emergencies and benefit from assistance within the institution,” said the minister.

Viorica Dumbrăveanu announced that individual protective suits will be purchased for medical personnel from a domestic manufacturer.

"I want to mention that this manufacturer has all the quality certificates, including the opinion of the National Public Health Agency. The costumes will be distributed to the hospital institutions that have been activated today, including regional ones and which are determined by the ministry,” said the head of health.

At the same time, Viorica Dumbrăveanu, stated during the briefing, that for persons whose disability expires during the period of emergency will be extended ex officio by the National Council for the Determination of Disability and Work Capacity, until the state of emergency is lifted.
