The number of COVID-19 cases in schools and kindergartens is increasing

In kindergartens and schools in the capital, since their reopening, 380 cases of COVID-19 have been registered. Of these, 166 refer to children, and 214 cases were detected among employees. About this, the head of the General Directorate of Social Assistance and Health, Tatiana Bucearschi, announced today, during the weekly meeting of the Chisinau City Hall, Moldova 1 reports.

The head of the directorate also referred to the capacity to hospitalize the infected people in the hospitals in the capital. According to a Government decision, from October 1, the COVID-19 Chisinau Center in Moldexpo is managed by the Municipal Clinical Hospital "Holy Trinity".

"The epidemiological situation is worrying, the number of cases of disease is constantly increasing. According to the data, at municipal level, we have 21,940 cases. Unfortunately, there are many deaths, many people go to the doctor late, in serious condition. We do not rule out concomitant diseases. Total hospitalized today we have 712 people, in serious condition - 208 patients, 14 intubated patients, who are in extremely serious condition. We observe the increasing tendency of diseases in children, as a result of the beginning of the new year of studies. I inform that the municipal institutions are prepared with equipment, there are medicines for the treatment of all patients," said Tatiana Bucearschi.

Deputy Mayor Angela Cutasevici reported that hot meals are served in schools in Chisinau in 103 institutions, and 26 are offered packaged food in classrooms.
