From June 1, the markets and shopping centers in Chisinau and Balti could be reopened

The markets and shopping centers in Chisinau and Balti could be reopened from June 1. A decision in this regard is to be taken on Monday, May 25, by the authorities. The statement was made this morning on Radio Moldova by Prime Minister Ion Chicu.

The prime minister said that the decision to relax some measures imposed during the pandemic could increase the number of cases of COVID-19 infection, but the medical system in the Republic of Moldova is ready to deal with a possible wave of infections, Radio Moldova reports.

Referring to the economic situation in the territory and how affected by the pandemic will be the districts and municipalities, Prime Minister Ion Chicu said that the money in local budgets had been transferred in proportion of 100%, which allows the proper functioning of institutions and payment of the state employees’ wages.
