Deforestation of forests, prohibited by order of the Minister of Agriculture

The Minister of Agriculture, Regional Development and the Environment, Ion Perju signed a document, ordering the cessation of all types of forestry-technical works in the state forest fund. Thus, it is forbidden to clear the trees from the forest, in any form: cutting of main products, cutting of secondary products and other cuts, explained for Radio Moldova the State Secretary of the Ministry of Agriculture, Regional Development and Environment, Maxim Popov.

"In the context of stopping the illegal cutting, an order was issued on the indication of the Minister, Ion Perju, respectively, all directors of forestry companies will be informed. An analysis will need to be done within the ministry to determine what stocks of wood for work and firewood exist, to make further decisions on future cuts. Our desire is to limit the so-called breed cuts, so that only the hygiene cuts remain, so that the forest can grow,” said Maxim Popov.

In case of non-observance of the provisions of the order, the administrators of the forestry entities will be disciplinary sanctioned, according to the legislation in force.
