Students from 13 districts of Moldova participate in a science and engineering competition

Almost 100 students from 13 districts of Moldova participate in the "Mold SEF" National Science and Engineering Contest, which is held these days in Chisinau. The projects are divided into three thematic categories: science and mathematics, applied sciences and IT. The event aims at identifying and developing multiple intelligence in students, increasing the interest in the study of mathematics, physics, informatics, chemistry, biology, natural sciences, technical sciences and engineering, as well as supporting talented children from Moldova, Mesager reports.

"By  such experiences we gain new knowledge. Thanks to the participation in such activities we can get a job in our home country and help to develop the state we live in”, said Alexandra Croitoru, pupil at " Mihai Marinciuc " Lyceum in Chisinau .

Another pupil wants to use the energy of the earth to heat the water, even if it is not sunny outside.

The competition is organized by the Ministry of Education, Culture and Research and the National Agency for Curriculum and Evaluation, in collaboration with the Moldovan Association of ICT Companies.

"We are very happy that the number of projects is growing annually, and our students participating in the US competition have been awarded prizes in recent years. Last year, Moldovan students participated in 15 international competitions  and they won 42 medals, "said Anatol Topală, the director of the National Agency for Curriculum and Assessment.

The winners will go to an international invention competition in the US. The "Mold SEF" National Science and Engineering Competition for Students is at its 7th edition and will end on Sunday.
