Bucharest makes public transport free for Moldovan students

Moldovan students studying in Bucharest will benefit from fare-free transportation starting with today. This was announced on Facebook page by Gabriela Firea, mayor of Bucharest, Radio Moldova reports, with reference to diez.md.

The fare free applies only to the general urban and regional subscriptions and is only granted to accredited / authorized pupils (day-to-day, low-frequency), primary, gymnasium, lyceum and professional education, aged up to 18 or until the completion of  lyceum/ vocational education.

Free passes will be reloaded monthly, on existing cards, with no need for new cards to be issued except for students who do not have an electronic travel card, nominally. At the first issue, the nominal travel card is free of charge.
