Protest actions in front of the Government

Several members and supporters of the Bloc ACUM gathered in front of the Government to participate in a flash mob occasioned by rising oil and agricultural product prices. After the PAS and PPDA leaders spoke, the action turned into a protest demonstration in which the participants chanted slogans and urged the Government to promote fair and transparent pricing policies. At the same time, a group of people organized a counter manifestation.

"We need to strengthen our efforts for many more people to understand what they want between a democratic state and a captured one," PPDA leader Andrei Năstase said.

"We ask those in the Government building, who must not be here, that people have not voted for them here, we are asking to promote fair, transparent policies, that all pricing policies should be lawful and transparent," said PAS leader Maia Sandu.

After the speeches of the Bloc ACUM leaders, the participants at the flashmob chanted slogans: "Down with mafia", "Thieves".

Protesters were isolated from the Government building by a police cordon, which emerged as soon as the action turned into protest.

At the same time, there is a counter manifestation against the Political Bloc ACUM. The action is also isolated from the Executive Building by a police cordon. Participants hold slogans and billboards targeting the leaders of the Block ACUM.

"We came to ask Maia Sandu. She does not answer the questions. I am with the people, with the whole nation. I do not protest, I came to ask Nastase. He became a deputy in five suburbs at once, and he does not come to see what's going on," one of the participants said.

TRM.MD recalls that last week several drivers protested in the Great National Assembly Square in the capital against fuel prices, asking authorities to lower prices. At the same time, according to data of the National Bureau of Statistics, vegetable prices grew by 31.5 percent in May compared to the same period last year. Major price increases have been recorded, in particular, in potatoes.
