Kindergartens could reopen on September 1

The kindergartens could resume their activity on September 1. An announcement to this effect was made by the head of state, Igor Dodon, during a briefing held today, August 10.

"We decided to propose to the Public Health Commission that kindergartens and schools be open on September 1. The vast majority of economic activities have already been resumed, except for a few related to entertainment," said Igor Dodon.

According to the head of state, in the last week, there has been a positive dynamic in terms of the spread and the rate of COVID-19 infection.

"We have a complicated situation. In the last week, we have a dynamic that demonstrates a decrease of 1.3% of cases registered in the Republic of Moldova. The contagion rate is 1.05%, which also decreased compared to the previous week," the president of the country also declared.

TRM.MD recalls that both kindergartens and schools ceased their activity in March, following the outbreak of the Coronavirus pandemic. Meanwhile, there were several protests organized by parents, kindergarten workers, but also civil society, which called for the reopening of kindergartens in compliance with all epidemiological rules.

TRM.MD recalls that the activity of kindergartens is suspended until September 1. A decision in this regard was taken by the National Extraordinary Public Health Commission on July 24 in connection with the serious epidemiological situation of COVID-19.
