Government will provide 16,000 lei to people who got infected with COVID-19 at workplace

1,497 persons who contracted COVID-19 infection during the exercise of their duties will receive 16 thousand lei each. A decision in this regard was approved today in the Government meeting.

According to the Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Finance Serghei Puşcuţa, a sum of 23952 thousand lei are allocated to the central and local public administration authorities from the Government intervention fund.

The project is elaborated in the context of supporting the persons employed in defense, internal affairs, justice, in the healthcare system and other budgetary institutions and public healthcare institutions.

We remind you that at the beginning of September, the Parliament rejected, by unanimous vote, the Government's initiative to cancel the single allowance of 16 thousand lei for healthcare workers and other public employees who got infected with COVID-19 at workplace.
