Buckwheat from Russia, with pesticide residues that exceed 57 times the allowed norm

The National Agency for Food Safety of the Republic of Moldova has submitted a request to Rosselhoznadzor to prevent violations detected in the country's supply of buckwheat from Russia, Radio Moldova reports referring to agrobiznes.md.

According to the information published on the official website of Rosselkhoznadzor, the competent authorities of the Republic of Moldova found in the batches of buckwheat exported by four enterprises from Kursk, Leningrad, Breansk and Voronezh, exceeding the maximum permissible level of glyphosate pesticide, established by Moldovan Government Decree from December 2010. In one of the groups the norm was exceeded 57 times.

The National Food Safety Agency of the Republic of Moldova has asked Rosselkhoznadzor to take measures to exclude such cases in the future. The Russian department has launched an investigation.
