National Cancer Registry to be set in Moldova

The National Cancer Registry will be set in Moldova. The information system will collect data on cancer incidence and mortality, thus improving the policies for fighting the disease, Radio Moldova reports.

The National Cancer Registry will be set up to collect, record and process data on cancer incidence, prevalence and mortality at national level within the Oncological Institute.

The technical concept of the Registry as well as its operating rules are contained in a draft government decision, that was previously set out for public consultations. The National Cancer Registry will record and store cancer data reported by all medical units. The Registry will become the only authorized source of official data on national oncology diseases.
