The 112 service recorded 1.6 million calls over eight months

In eight months of this year, the 112 Service recorded 1.6 million phone calls. Most calls were from Chisinau, Balti and Orhei. The data were presented by the Ministry of Economy and Infrastructure, Radio Moldova reports.

According to the data presented, the 112 Service records about seven thousand telephone calls per day. Most calls were recorded between 5pm and 7pm.

74% of the citizens requested the medical emergency service, 23% - the police, and 3% - the firemen.

More than 38,000 suspicious calls to COVID-19 were also recorded.

The most requested interventions were caused by hypertension, a sick child and an attack on the person's life and health. In 59% of cases, requests for assistance were not urgent.
