Ion Chicu: "As a prime minister, I do not transfer any cent to ECHR cases"

Prime Minister Ion Chicu reiterates that the state will not pay the losses of the cases at the European Court of Human Rights (ECHR), specifically the 70 million lei, which the state must pay after the sentence to the ECHR in the file "Gemeni".

"I repeat for the judges from the SCM and all the corrupt gang of justice - any money paid by Moldova for your illegal decisions - will be from your account. Do not wait, you the independents, for your illegality the children or the elderly to pay. As a premier, I will not pay a penny to the ECHR causes, until we remove them from you,” Chicu writes on his Facebook page.

TRM.MD recalls that the prime minister, at the beginning of the February 19 session of the Executive, stated that the Government will pay 70 million lei from the fund to be allocated to the judiciary for 2020 in the case of "Gemini".

The Ministry of Justice, in turn, requests the General Prosecutor's Office to take decisions regarding the violations found by the European Court of Human Rights in the "Gemini" case. At least, this is shown in a written notification by the Ministry of Justice to the Attorney General, Alexandr Stoianoglo.

The president Igor Dodon also came up with a reply in this case and proposed to confiscate the assets of the judges responsible for sentencing of the Republic of Moldova to the ECHR.
