Ion Chicu: We will not postpone or ban the Memorial Easter

The Memorial Easter, scheduled for June, is not postponed this time, Prime Minister Ion Chicu announced in a show on a private TV channel. Ion Chicu assured the believers that the Easter traditions will take place without any restriction, but it is recommended that only one representative of the family go to the cemetery, in order to avoid the crowds, Radio Moldova reports.

"As for the Memorial Easter on June 8, I will discuss this topic with my colleagues at the meeting of the public health commission. They have already prepared some rules and instructions in cases where people want to go to the cemetery in those two days. Last week I met with the bishop of Ungheni and Nisporeni, who suggested to me the idea that only those people who really want this should go to the cemetery. It is recommended that only one person in the family go. We will not postpone or ban this tradition ", said Ion Chicu.

We remind you that, under a decision from April, the celebration of the Memorial Easter was postponed for the period June 6-8. A final decision is to be approved today in the Extraordinary National Commission for Public Health.
