Minister of Education: "Today the bell rings silently"

The 2019-2020 school year ends today, May 29, without festive squares and other cultural activities, the decision being taken in the context of measures to prevent and combat COVID-19. "The last day of this year of studies is full of contradictory emotions, and the bell rings silently", said Minister of Education, Culture and Research Igor Sharov in a video message posted on Facebook on the occasion of the "Last Bell" holiday.

According to the minister, “by virtue of changing the location of the school, we did not stop, we moved forward to succeed in completing the school year, to feel at peace and fulfilled. Together we have managed to meet the challenges of the war with the COVID-19 virus and this is the greatest achievement. We adapted to the realities of the times we lived in, we managed to carry out the distance learning process. I admit, it was not easy, but not impossible ".

The 2019-2020 academic year ends without festive parties and national graduation exams. This is after the Parliament adopted a law, according to which, the national graduation exams, the 2020 session, were canceled.

We remind you that, starting with March 10, the activity of educational institutions has been suspended, in connection with the COVID-19 epidemic. During this period, schools switched to the distance learning method, by using online platforms.
