Moldova disputes the invocation of the 1992 Agreement to justify the presence of the GOTR in the Transnistrian region

The Republic of Moldova disputes the invocation of the 1992 Agreement and reiterates the illegality of the stationing of Russian troops on its territory. The message was sent by the Ambassador of our country to Vienna Victor Osipov at the Forum for Security Cooperation, reports Moldova 1.

The diplomat reiterated that the Operational Group of Russian Troops (GOTR) is illegally on the territory of Moldova and that it must be withdrawn unconditionally together with all its ammunition stocks.

Osipov also said it was unacceptable to invoke the 1992 Agreement in the reports on the Russian military presence in the Republic of Moldova. Last June, the UN adopted a resolution on the withdrawal of Russian troops from the Republic of Moldova.
