New drugs reimbursed from AOAM funds

The insured persons will benefit from today, July 10, from several compensated medicines. The list of reimbursed medicines in the Compulsory Health Insurance Fund (AOAM) has been supplemented by five common international names. The order was published today in the Official Gazette of the Republic of Moldova.

Thus, the list included drugs for the treatment of asthma in children, for the treatment of bullous epidermolysis, for the treatment of anemia in pregnant women, all with a 100% compensation rate.

With an average rate of 70%, a preparation for cardiovascular disease will be compensated. In the same list, was introduced the drug that will be used in the day hospital, from the date of resumption of its activity, for the treatment of community-acquired pneumonia and bronchitis. It will be compensated 100% for children and 70% for adults.

Another change made in the list of reimbursed preparations refers to the extension of the number of diseases for which compensated medicines will be prescribed. Therefore, in the treatment of gastroesophageal reflux disease, in the day hospital, from the date of resumption of its activity, a compensated preparation will be used in a proportion of 70% for adults and 100% for children. At the same time, a 50% compensated drug will be prescribed for the long-term treatment of patients with myocardial infarction with atrial fibrillation.

At the same time, in the case of certain diseases, other preparations from the list of compensated ones will be prescribed.

At the same time, 16 common international names from the list of compensated preparations were supplemented with new doses and pharmaceutical forms.

TRM.MD recalls that, starting with 2019, the citizens can benefit free of charge from at least one medicine from those partially compensated from the AOAM funds.

According to estimates, by the end of this year, about 50 thousand people will benefit from the new drugs, doses and forms included in the list of compensated preparations, and the expenses for this purpose will reach 60 million lei. Currently, the list of reimbursed drugs includes 153 names. In 2020, for reimbursed medicines, approximately 655 million lei were planned, of which over 265 million were allocated in the first 5 months for the treatment of over 580 thousand people.
