Postal operators will provide information about postal items to the Customs Service
Postal operators will provide the Customs Service with preliminary information on imported postal items in Moldova, such as date, time, package tracking code, sender and recipient information, weight and product description, Moldova 1 TV reports.
Under a regulation of the Customs Service, published in the Official Gazette, the customs control of the postal items arriving in Moldova will be performed on the basis of a risk analysis.
The Customs Service guarantees the confidentiality of the information and considers that the new rules will not affect the beneficiaries of the parcels and the companies providing the postal services. Such a mechanism is in line with international practice.
