Collection of illegal money in schools and kindergartens, banned

The deputy head of the Directorate-General for Education, Youth and Sports Chisinau Viorica Negrei says that an order has been issued prohibiting the collection of money in schools and pre-school institutions in the municipality, especially on the eve of winter holidays. However, the official says that parents are the ones who insist that the little ones be given gifts at Christmas parties.

In this context, Viorica Negrei says that any initiative to raise money can come exclusively from parents, while teachers, educators or heads of institutions shall not be involved in raising this money.

"There is no regulation that states the right or prohibition to organize parties. On winter holidays we must create conditions for the children to feel the atmosphere of the holidays. Teachers need to find a way to organize these holidays within the existing budget ", said Viorica Negrei.
