People with hearing impairments will benefit from prostheses
A number of 1,500 people with hearing impairments will benefit from hearing aids from the municipality. The program was approved by the Chisinau Municipal Council, Mesager reports.
The devices will reach the beneficiaries by this year-end. The waiting lists include 4,079 hearing impaired patients.
"Providing patients with hearing aids improves the quality of life of these people, who become socially active and enjoy the fact that they can communicate more easily or solve personal problems," said mayor Ion Ceban.
In the last three years, about 1,100 people have benefited from such hearing aids, which have been purchased from the municipal budget.
