Border Police: The number of people entering the country, increasing by more than 20 percent

The number of people who crossed the border of the Republic of Moldova between June 29 and July 5 shows an increase of 20 percent compared to the last week of June, amounting to 67,599 crossings. As stated by the Border Police, the most "active" border was the one with Romania, or, according to the quoted source, 59 percent of the total crossings were reported at the crossing points located at the Moldovan-Romanian border.

In the last 24 hours alone, at the border crossing points, the flow of people was just over nine thousand crossings. A higher number was registered on the way to enter the Republic of Moldova - 5,270 person crossings, of which 2,905 crossings at the Moldovan-Romanian border, 863 crossings at the border with Ukraine and 1,502 crossings of the air border.

According to the quoted source, all persons who entered the country were screened. They also completed individual epidemiological files. None of those who crossed the state border showed symptoms of COVID-19 infection.
