Preparations for the reopening of the Central Market - on the last hundred meters

Preparations are underway for the reopening of the Central Market in Chisinau. Until the resumption of the activity, the traders are to carry out the disinfection of the entire work equipment, refrigeration equipment, as well as the disinfection of the storage and marketing spaces of the products, counters and the entire territory. Thus, at the entrance, visitors will have their body temperature measured and they will have to disinfect their hands, and they will have to wear masks on the market territory. Also, masks and gloves will be mandatory for traders. At the same time, traders will be obliged to provide buyers with a disinfectant solution, Moldova 1 reports.

The access of the persons will be allowed through three entrances and three exits from Armenească, Tighina streets and near the administrative building.

"Thermometry will be applied for visitors. The working or visiting people must be perfectly healthy. Regarding the social, physical distance - it is established by one meter, the distance between the places of trade is established by two meters," said Ion Pîntea, director of the Central Market.

Disinfectants, accessible to both consumers and traders, will be placed next to each counter. Traders will wear masks, gloves and cover their products with plastic wrap. So that customers can't touch and taste the products. Up to 50 people will be allowed in the enclosed spaces. At 17:00 everything will close and disinfection procedures will begin.

Authorities warn that all those who do not comply will be fined.

"I know that there are some who say that we should wait a little longer, others say that they don't have a job and they have problems, respectively. There are specialists who have expressed themselves in this regard. We, on our part, organize the processes to be as safe as possible," says the mayor of the capital, Ion Ceban.

Also from June 1, libraries and museums will resume their activity, and the Public Services Agency will return to the full work schedule. From June 5, religious meetings are allowed. The malls will open their doors from June 8, and the public catering units from June 15. Since then, the gyms will be reopened. In order to prevent the spread of Coronavirus, public transport in Chisinau and Balti will be suspended on holidays until June 30.
