Chairman of CSM Victor Micu, dismissed
The president of the Superior Council of Magistracy (CSM) Victor Micu was dismissed. Nine CSM members voted for and one against the dismissal of the CSM chairman.
A new acting chairman of CSM is being voted now.
The decision to dismiss Micu was taken after Prime Minister Maia Sandu warned the Superior Council of Magistracy this morning that they should "keep in mind integrity and professionalism in selecting new CC members, otherwise, the PM will have to initiate the external judiciary cleansing ".
We remind that Victor Micu was appointed as CSM chairman from 19 January 2018 until 19 January 2022 inclusively. This was his second term. First time he was appointed head of CSM in 2014.
