„Safe blood for all”- blood donation campaign
The national campaign to promote voluntary blood donation titled “Safe blood for all” is held on May 25- June 25 in Moldova in connection with the World Blood Donor Day that is annually celebrated on June 14.
This campaign is organized by the Ministry of Health, Labor and Social Protection and the National Blood Transfusion Center (CNTS) and aims to encourage the population to donate blood so as to accumulate and maintain the necessary reserves of blood components.
According to the deputy director of the CNTS Silvia Roşca, quoted by IPN, Moldova never witnessed shortages of blood components. The reserves and the demands are constant. The population is receptive to authorities’ calls whenever blood donation campaigns are organized.
There are over 70,000 donors nationwide and more than 90% of these are voluntary donors.
