Holy Apostles Peter and Paul marked today

Today, on July 12, Orthodox Christians celebrate the day of St. Peter and Paul. As a result of their apostolic mission, Christianity became known from Jerusalem to Rome.

This holiday meets a great response in the hearts of Christians who honor the two great pillars of the apostolic calling, who have dedicated their entire lives to preaching the gospel of Christ.

Holy Apostles Peter and Paul are especially honored by the Church, being called “heads of the apostles” and “teachers of the world”. They contributed to spread the Gospel word in many parts of the world.

Today, in a number of localities of Moldova, the feast of the holy apostles Peter and Paul is celebrated. In the national calendar this day is associated with the period of the height of summer agricultural work and harvesting.
