The national health emergency system is partially prepared, the report said

The national system for public health emergencies is partially prepared, and plans for prompt response in high-risk situations are lacking. At the same time, the intersectoral collaboration between the structures of the central and local public administration is absent. These are the findings of a report presented by the Platform for Active Aging, reports Moldova 1.

According to the authors, the national system would also lack operational procedures, and during this period there was also a lack of sustainable and sufficient funding for the system.

In reply, the representatives of the Ministry of Health, Labor and Social Protection claim that during the COVID-19 pandemic, the institution took a series of measures to protect the health of the elderly and prevent the risk of infection. According to the authorities, several services have been digitized, allowances offered, packages of basic hygiene and food products, as well as protective equipment.
