Statistics: One third of COVID-19 patients return to hospital in the next five months
Nearly one-third of patients who have recovered from severe COVID-19 return to hospital within five months. The worrying statistics were discovered following a study by the University of Leicester and the UK's National Statistics Office, Mesager reports.
According to research, many of them face heart problems, have diabetes or develop chronic liver and kidney disease.
The investigation also shows that almost 30 percent of the about 48,000 people who were discharged after the first wave arrived on the hospital bed again in the next 140 days.
Moreover, more than 12% of people considered cured have died.
The results of the research are to be evaluated by other scientists.
