Ion Creanga Street in the capital will be renovated

Although it should have looked like a new yet one year ago, Ion Creanga Street in the capital is now like after the war. Drivers have to go around potholes that have been formed for 30 years since the road section was not renovated. The municipality gives assurances that this year the repair works will be restarted, and in two years at most, the street will be renovated to European standards, reports Moldova 1.

The mayor of the capital, Ion Ceban, who was on the spot, says that the tender was launched only now, because the authorities insisted on the termination of the previous contract, a procedure that involved expenses, which were not initially provided in the municipal budget. Thus, the sidewalks will be arranged, the aqueduct and sewerage networks will be changed, but also the road and the roundabouts in “Dimitrie Cantemir” Square and “Unirii Principatelor” Square will be rehabilitated.

"Money for the rehabilitation of Creangă street infrastructure was planned in the budget for 2020. The project itself will be executed for an estimated period of 18 months, because we have to change all the networks to intervene on the sidewalks and already the final phase with the asphalt on the road," declared the mayor of the capital, Ion Ceban.

TRM.MD recalls that the repair of Ion Creangă Street started in 2018. Within the project, the municipal networks, the aqueduct and sewerage networks had to be changed, something that never happened before. For the execution of the works on Ion Creangă Street, the municipality will allocate 50 million lei.
