Man dies in accident
A man died today after his car was struck by the Chisinau - Odessa train, Radio Moldova reports.
According to the police, the accident happened this morning at about 08.00 near the town of Varniţa. The driver of the car ignored the red light of the traffic light.
As a result, he was struck from the left side by the Chisinau - Odessa train.
The driver died on the spot. According to the press officer of the Anenii Noi Police Inspectorate, Corina Repesciuc, the man, 61 is from the village of Fârlădeni, Causeni.
It was also found that he was employed in the Customs Service.
