A group of UTM specialists offers free psychological counseling for the institution's employees, as well as students during the pandemic

Fear of COVID-19 virus, the state of emergency in the country and the ban on leaving the home can create stress, depression and crisis. In these situations, it is advisable to consult a psychologist. Thus, during the pandemic, a group of UTM specialists offers free psychological counseling for the institution's employees, as well as students. These sessions are intended to help people cope with anxiety, fear, stress, panic, depression during the pandemic and to understand how to more easily deal with isolation at home, reports Moldova 1.

“UTM has a lot of students and a lot of teachers. It was necessary and absolutely useful for psychologists within the institution to work in such a way as to provide free services for all staff. The largest contingent who comes to counseling are students, but we also have some teachers,” said UTM University Lecturer Dan Simion.

"We come with the initiative to anticipate and prevent certain psychological situations by the fact that the UTM members know that they are not alone and have where to go after the psychological help," said the lecturer from the UTM, Viorelia Lungu.

Psychologists say that anxiety disorders are somewhat natural and only a specialist can help us manage anxiety or negative emotions.

"The isolation state, at some point, can arouse different feelings. We have, for the first time, the fear of the unknown. These are the panic attacks with palpitations and strong beats of the heart, tremors, feelings of dizziness or evil, and the well-known anxiety, depression and even stress,” explained UTM University lector Dan Simion.

In order to avoid fear and crises during the pandemic, as well as possible conflicts in the family, psychologists say that there must be mutual support and respect. Crises, nervous breakdowns and negative emotions can be overcome through sports, meditation, but also a well-established program that provides accurate activities.
