A Moldovan in Wuhan city of China has been evacuated

A Moldovan citizen in the city of Wuhan, the epicenter of the coronavirus epidemic, was evacuated on Sunday, February 2, by a French charter plane to the city of Istres (France). The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and European Integration of the Republic of Moldova (MAEIE) announced today.

MAEIE specifies that the evacuation was possible following the efforts of the Embassy of the Republic of Moldova to Beijing, in collaboration with the diplomatic missions of Romania and France.

When landing on the French territory, all the passengers of the aircraft were quarantined for about 15 days.

According to MAEIE, at the end of the quarantine period, the citizen of the Republic of Moldova will be able to leave France to continue his journey back home, if he does not show symptoms of the infection.

TRM.MD recalls that there are over 360 deaths due to coronavirus, which exceeds that of Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome (SARS) in mainland China, where a hospital built in record time to cope with patient flow opens on Monday.
