New compulsory vaccine, introduced into the National Immunization Calendar 2019
A new compulsory vaccine was introduced into the 2019 National Immunization Calendar. In Moldova cervical cancer is the third most common cancer among women, Moldova 1 TV reports.
In Moldova, every day a woman is diagnosed with cervical cancer and every three days one woman dies because of it. Over 90% of cases of cervical cancer are caused by human papillomavirus.
Authorities have previously announced the purchase of 40,000 doses of the vaccine, with a $ 4.5 dose. Gardasil vaccine is produced by Merck from the US. The target group in 2019 will be girls who were born in 2009.
The vaccination will be free.
