Mayor diagnosed with COVID-19, dies
The mayor of Dubna village, Soroca district, Valeriu Pruteanu, died, being killed by COVID-19, announces the Congress of Local Authorities of Moldova (CALM). The deceased worked for more than 16 years as mayor, Radio Moldova reports.
According to some local people and his colleagues, Valeriu Pruteanu was infected with COVID-19 in May and was hospitalized at a medical institution in Chisinau. For a long time, he was in the resuscitation department, the infection affected his whole body. Following complications from the coronavirus, he underwent surgery and died on July 10.
Valeriu Pruteanu has been active for more than 16 years as mayor.
