USMF registered in the international repository the data of SARS-CoV-2 strains circulating in Moldova
"Nicolae Testemitanu" State University of Medicine and Pharmacy is the first institution in the country to register, for the first time, data on the complete SARS-CoV-2 genome in the international GISAID repository that circulates on the territory of the Republic of Moldova, informs Moldova 1.
This scientific achievement is due to the collaboration with the International Center for Genetic Engineering and Biotechnology (ICGEB).
In total, for the complete sequencing of the SARS-CoV-2 viral genome, seven samples, selected from patients with different clinical forms, from different geographical areas of the country were sent to ICGEB, four of which were completely sequenced.
