Moldova is ready to carry out joint customs control at any point on the border with Ukraine and Romania. Director of the Customs Service Vitalie Vrabie spoke about this in the meeting with the head of the European Union Border Assistance Mission to Moldova and Ukraine (EUBAM) Slawomir Pichor, Radio Moldova reports.

According to the Customs Service, the sides discussed in the meeting about the expansion of the joint control and the development of the anti-fraud capabilities of the Customs.

The Head of Customs recalled about the proposal of the Customs Service to start expanding the joint control with the Tudora customs post, which has the necessary infrastructure for hosting all the partner services.

Slawomir Pichor believes that joint control has proved to be an effective mechanism to facilitate trade and legal travels, as well as to strengthen border security in the region.
