The "Theater of Soroca" and "Covenant" documentaries will be released in Chisinau

After having been shown to the audience in the localities where they were conceived and filmed, the documentaries "The Big Theater in Soroca" and "Covenant", cast at the TeleFilm - Chisinau studio of the National Broadcasting Institution (IPNA) "Teleradio - Moldova", will be launched on Saturday, September 15 in Chisinau. The release will take place at the "Patria - Loteanu" Cinema.

Coming back from the Soroca municipality and Taul village from Donduseni district, where the documentaries "The Big Theater in Soroca" and "Covenant" have been shown for the first time, TeleFilm - Chişinău studio team is now preparing to launch these productions in Chisinau. The TRM.MD reporter surprised the entire team in preparations. Although they seemed very busy and even worried, journalists, documentary filmmakers, and team leader have relaxed and smiled, they shared with pleasure the impressions of the two country trips.

"Emotions are very high before each launch. It matters to us how much our audience appreciates our films and how people react. But I want to tell you that I have come back from the two trips made to Soroca and Taul with a special energy load. I saw the honest eyes of the people, I communicated with them. It was an indescribable atmosphere, incomparable with the one from the talk shows they make on television with the participation of politicians or state dignitaries," Mircea Surdu, director of "TeleFilm - Chişinău" Department told us.

"For the first time at Soroca Fortress, a film was designed. It was something spectacular to watch this symbiosis of the medieval fortress, the documentary, which gives a shade of everyday life and curious eyes of the audience. We will participate with our documentaries at international competitions and festivals," Eugeniu Popovici, the author of "The Great Theater in Soroca", mentioned.

"The documentary "Covenant" was first shown to the inhabitants of the village of Taul, that is where the film was conceived. The film plays the drama of a resident, and from the point of view of this protagonist we have in fact produced a phenomenon that is part of the life of the inhabitants of Taul. People were eager for projections. At the launch, people came from the neighborhoods where filming took place, they were very impressed, but I also returned to Chisinau with feelings of joy and fulfillment," Lucia Tăut, the author of the documentary film "Covenant", said.

The two documentaries "The Great Theater in Soroca" and "Covenant" will now be released in Chisinau. The premiere will take place on Saturday, September 15 at the "Patria - Loteanu" cinema, starting at 15:00.

Mircea Surdu, director of "TeleFilm - Chişinău" Department, announced that the team was working on another documentary, which would be released in October in the village of Pepeni in Sîngerei district.

TRM.MD recalls that the "TeleFilm - Chisinau" studio activity was re-launched thanks to the support offered by the Council of Europe and the European Union through the project "Promoting Media Liberty and Pluralism in the Republic of Moldova".
