Natalia Barbu participated at a press conference organized by Teleradio-Moldova, maib and Port Mall
Today, April 18, Natalia Barbu participated at a press conference organized by the Moldovan public broadcaster and ESC partners - maib and Port Mall.
The speakers of the event were:
Corneliu Durnescu - Deputy general director, TV Moldova 1
Andrei Zapsa - Deputy general director, Development
Giorgi Shagidze - President, maib
Tatiana Golea - Co-founder, Port Mall
During the conference, Natalia Barbu said that will represent Moldova at the highest level and she relies on public support: I will do my best and I will represent my country with dignity, with my head held high, and with all my self-giving.
Speaking about the importance and significance of the Eurovision Song Contest, Andrei Zapsa, TRM's Deputy general director, Development, said: Eurovision is not only a music competition, but also a celebration of what we call pan-European identity. We have a very responsible attitude towards this competition, both nationally and internationally.
Corneliu Durnescu, Deputy general director of the public television said: We know Natalia is a fighter and Eurovision is a fight. We are beside you and we continue to support you and we hope that our citizens from abroad will understand that Natalia is going to represent the whole country.
Giorgi Shagidze, the President of maib said that it’s already a tradition that maib supports cultural projects, this being the third year in which maib supports Moldovan representative at Eurovision Song Contest. Also, Giorgi Shagidze wished the best of luck to Natalia at Malmo.
Tatiana Golea, co-founder of Port Mall, said that the decision to be a partner of the music competition is proof that the desire to support and promote Moldovan talents is very strong: We are rooting for Natalia and we know that she will leave a deep echo in this competition.
Eurovision Song Contest 2024 will take place in Malmo, Sweden, between 7-11 May. Natalia Barbu will perform in the first semi-final on May 7, with the number 11. The second semi-final will be held on May 9, and the winning country of the 68th ESC will be announced on May 11.
